JOB TITLE:                                        REGISTERED NURSE

REPORTS TO                                    Radiologist, Branch Manager

EMPLOYMENT TYPE                     Temporary (Maternity cover)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
  The Nurse is responsible for supporting the Radiology team in delivering medical care to patients, managing work flow and inventory in the department, and demonstrating loyalty to the company’s values and Mission.  
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  Book patients for IVP, CT scans and other investigations as required Clean and tidy the work station.Check the booking list for number of patients and prepare for their management.Prepare for the patients (sterilise instruments, gowns, sheets, warm water)Assist radiographers or radiologists in doing investigations as needed.Cross – cover for reception when needed.Obtain patient bio-data e.g. allergies, medical history, treatment is recorded)Counselling patients pre- and post-investigation as may be needed.Perform triage patient proceduresAttend to emergencies as well as provide first aid to patients in need of it.Attend scheduled professional, team or staff meetings as may be required.Perform any other duties as may be required.  
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a certificate in Nursing and full registration from the Uganda Nurses and mid wives’ council is a must. A diploma is an added advantage.At least two years’ experience in a medical institution.Professional and friendly attitude.A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in emergency situations.In-depth knowledge of health, safety guidelines and proceduresAble to work on own initiative.
